This geophysical and glaciological map shows the rock surface beneath the Antarctic Ice Sheet. The BEDMAP Consortium of 31 international scientific organisations compiled this sub-ice surface from the surface topography and all known ice-thickness measurements from over-snow and airborne surveys since International Geophysical Year, 1957–58. The map also includes cross-sectional profiles through East and West Antarctica and separate panels showing the geographical distribution of primary survey data and reliability of the bed surface.
