Activities include:
- looking after BAS people including all those going South
- managing the finances and planning for BAS
- raising public awareness and engagement in science
- providing resources for reference and research through the library and archives services
- maintaining a record of and promoting the scientific activities of BAS
- looking after and ensuring beneficial use BAS's collection of images and video footage
- maintaining and developing the BAS website, intranet and associated web-based systems
- providing the facilities and services at BAS Cambridge
