It was mentioned last month that the containers were getting quite badly snowed in, so the month started with them
being pulled out. Quite a job considering that there are almost 25. However, Cathy dug them out with a dozer, while Dave
directed Gaz as he pulled them out (and I ran about getting in the way and taking photos). In some cases the more
stubborn ones needed both Cathy pushing while Gaz pulled. But after two days we got them all moved to their new
locations about 100 m to the west.

The second Saturday saw a fancy dress party in which we were all to come as Met phenomena. Almost everyone managed to
come up with some very impressive costumes, although lateral thinking was in many cases very much in evidence. We had a
rainbow, a cloud, a shower, a storm (brewing), a green flash, wind and at least two new met babes, including myself.
Fortunately by writing this web page I can carefully prevent any photos of yours truly appearing on the ‘Net in drag.
And of course throughout the night there was much debate about what sort of cloud Liz really was.

Our intrepid Doctor and vehicle Mech set off on the 27th for a trip manhauling down to Creek Four. With surprisingly
little practise and in extremely good time, a little over two hours, they made it safely down. No doubt celebrating with
an ice-cold beer when they arrived. Their return did not go so well. The weather turned a bit nasty on the following
day, and after a couple of further days of overcast and slightly threatening weather, International Rescue had to be
called, but since Thunderbird 2 was in for repairs, Rich T and Monkey had to take a couple of skidoos down to the
caboose to pick them up - a much more sensible way to get about!

We had one of the most impressive sets of sun dogs of the whole year this month.

Our poor flag, which has weathered some terrible storms, finally blew down this month, and has been retired. It was
almost destroyed, though it was only raised at sun up.
