Plant Database - Glossary
- Species
- The name of the taxa matching your search criteria. If this name is a synonym, the latest name for the species is also shown.
- Det
- The name of the person who determined the specimen to the species name given above and, when known, the year the determination was made.
- Leg
- The name of the person who collected the specimen and the number the collector assigned to it if this differs from the AAS specimen number.
- Collection Date
- The date the specimen was collected.
- Latitude
- The latitude of the collection locality to the nearest minute, given in degrees and decimal minutes.
- Longitude
- The longitude of the collection locality to the nearest minute, given in degrees and decimal minutes.
- Habitat/Locality
- A description of the habitat and locality from which the specimen was collected.
- Region
- The geographic region from which the specimen was collected.
- Notes
- Any other notes relevant to the specimen.
- Herbarium
- The herbarium (or herbaria) in which the specimen is held using abbreviations from Index Herbariorum.
- Herb No/folder
- The number the herbarium has assigned to the specimen (if different from the AAS number) or the folder or collection in which the specimen is held.
- AAS name and No
- The name of the collection and collection number assigned to the specimen by AAS and used to uniquely identify each specimen in the database.
