The British Antarctic Survey (BAS), part of the Natural Environment Research Council, aims to undertake a world-class programme of scientific research, and to sustain for the UK an active and influential regional presence and a leadership role in Antarctic affairs.
We are now looking for a Wintering Communications Manager to provide operational and technical support for the communications and IT systems in the Antarctic, ensuring communications are maintained between the Antarctic bases, ships, field parties, aircraft and BAS Cambridge
Qualifications: BTEC L3 (tech discipline)
A-level (with technical bias)
Salary: £23,937 per annum (as of 1st July 2014) , rising annually. Additionally, upon completion of a successful tour, you will receive a 10% bonus. BAS provides all training required, outdoor and work clothing, tools, and accommodation (whilst in the Antarctic).
