Main Description

The British Antarctic Survey (BAS), part of the Natural Environment Research Council, aims to undertake a world-class programme of scientific research, and to sustain for the UK an active and influential regional presence and a leadership role in Antarctic affairs.

We are looking to appoint a CACHE-ITN Project Administrator.

Qualifications: Minimum of Maths and English GSCE or equivalent

Duration: 4 Year Fixed term appointment, part time

Salary: Salary will be in the range of £19,740 to £23,390 per annum. We offer a generous benefits package including a defined salary pension scheme, free car parking, flexible working hours and 30 days annual leave.

2. Location:
BAS Cambridge. Travel to European cities for short periods for meetings, no more than twice a year.

3. Purpose:
To provide administrative assistance for the CACHE-ITN project team, including managing the day-to-day running of the project at BAS. CACHE-ITN is European Union funded project with 13 partner and associated partner institutions in 6 countries, and a total of €3.6M funding over four years to study how climate change might affect the production of shells in several species of marine molluscs.

4. Duties:
1) Organising meetings and related paperwork for the CACHE-ITN Supervisory Board and other committees within the project as needed, including the production and delivery of minutes and subsequent actions. Provide admin support to the Project Coordinator with the meeting content.

2) Assisting the Coordinator in monitoring progress, co-ordinating tasks, and producing reports related to each work package in the project, including tracking the submission of reports, deliverables, and milestones.

3) Tracking and recording project expenditure, prepare documentation for audits, paying invoices, distributing project funds, etc. Liaising with BAS finance and corporate services.

4) Tracking and handling all project documents, including applications and proposals, records, etc.

5) Acting as first point of contact for the project and maintaining BAS’s relationships with stakeholders and partners

6) Maintaining the project website
