Seal assistant Nik Aspey uses a radio receiver with a directional antenna to locate a seal with a VHF radio transmitter attached to its back. The tussock grass around Feshwater Inlet on Bird Island, South Georgia is very dense and radio tracking is sometimes the only way a seal can be located.
