The Ocean Model

I never got the ocean running under vn4.0 on the alphas...

The vn4.5 distribution comes supplied with job xaabb (MPP ocean; 98x73x20 = (96+2)x73x20) which is on the same grid as the atmos. This runs fairly readily (see yaasa) and very fast (0.5 mins/day at 64-bit on 2 processors on master, compared to 7 mins.day for the atmos).

The "standard" ocean resolution that we know-and-love, and which constitutes HadCM3, is (288+2)x145, ie 1.25x1.25 degrees (note that the ocean includes the wrap-around column in its input grid size; the atmos doesn't). This needs changing in ocean -> model res and domain -> horiz. But then it diesn't work... who cares, though? The coupled model is more interesting...
