Utilities

  1. ancillary file utilities
  2. copy_stash.pl
  3. pum_server.pl
  4. safe_convpp.pl
  5. pp64_to_32
Jeff Cole has a (linux) copy of nupdate here which may be better than portable nupdate. Who knows...

Alan Iwi has some useful stuff here.

ancillary file utilities

Perl scripts to convert ancils to PP, and vice versa. See here.

copy_stash.pl

A perl script to copy/merge stash from one job to another. Invoke as just "copy_stash.pl" for options.

copy_stash.pl

Warning: its potentially dangerous...

pum_server.pl

This is a perl script: pum_server.pl.

It "manages" the output from the model: converts fields-files to PP format, deletes obsolete dumps, archives, etc.

It depends on various scripts and UM utilities:

  1. pp2ss.pl (see below)
  2. safe_convpp.pl (see below)
  3. pp64_to_32 (see below)

pp2ss.pl

Another perl script: pp2ss.pl. Under CVS: pp2ss.pl,v.

It stashsplits pp-fields, without the need for IDL etc. Various options to select desired stash codes, levels, etc.

safe_convpp.pl

yet another perl script: safe_convpp.pl.

This converts fields files to PP format (using the UM utility convpp).

pp64_to_32

Convert PP fields from 64 to 32 bit. Nb: only works on PP fields.

At last, not a perl script, just fortran.

  1. pp64_to_32.ksh - controlling script
  2. pp64_to_32.f - fortran code
  3. pp64_to_32.l.exe - code compiled and linked, if you're feeling lazy
