Doug Cochrane - Pilot
Name: Doug Cochrane
Job title: Pilot
Role in AGAP: I am one of two BAS Twin Otter pilots who will be flying our aircraft from Rothera to McMurdo (via South Pole) to pick up the project’s scientists and their survey equipment before deploying to AGAP North for six weeks of survey flying (radar, magnetometry, gravimeter).
Looking forward to: Freezing my n*ts off in a tent at 12,000 ft for six weeks. Then flying in very straight lines with no more than 10 feet deviation. For hours & hours. Every day. Oh, and helping to deliver world-class science.
Previous Antarctic experience: Yes, last year (2007–2008) as a BAS Air Unit Pilot
