It is expected that the body of marine biologist Kirsty Brown (see earlier press release)
will return to the UK later this week. She will return from the Falkland Islands on a RAF Tri-star to RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.
The Falkland Islands Coroner has released Kirsty's body for burial following a post-mortem. The Inquest will be held in Port Stanley, Falkland Islands in late September - early October.
The funeral will take place on Friday 5 September at 3.00pm at Church of the Holy Innocents in Southwater, Near Horsham. Friends and family from the UK and overseas are expected to attend.
Kirsty's family have set up a charity with two research aims. A short-term project into the behaviour of Leopard Seals and a longer-term geology project which is not yet decided. Donations can be sent to the family direct. Cheques payable to the 'Kirsty Brown Fund' should be sent to: Swains, Marlpost Road, Southwater, Horsham, Sussex, RH13 9BY or British Antarctic Survey, Cambridge.
